The SM Store 3 Day Sale only happens twice a year, once in the Summer and then once just before the Holiday season, so you can understand why I always get excited when it does come around. This time it’s going to be on the 18th, 19th and 20th.
The only time I go on a shopping spree is during the 3 Day Sale, because it’s when I can get more value for my money. It’s when prices of things I want actually goes down, and it goes down a lot. This time around I’m going to spend my hard earned money on some shoes, underwear and really good make up.
For this, I would need to take advantage of the 2 hour special on the 18th. What pray tell is the 2 hour special you say?
It simply means that you get an additional 10% off on an item during the first 2 hours from when the store opens. So yes, I’m going to be there early because I want to get my hands on Max Factor Lippies
and Mascara
and as you know, Max Factor is not a cheap brand, so the 20% on top of the existing discount will make a significant difference on the price of the item. I only buy make up from the SM Store or Watsons because #1 I’m sure it’s not a cheap knock off and #2 it’s the only place in town to get it, I know there are other stores in Baguio that claim to sell original make up, but then, I can’t be too sure. I didn’t always buy expensive make up, in fact I tried using the ones that you find being sold on the sidewalk and you know what happened to me? I freaking got hives and pimples wreaked havoc on my face, so no thank you. NEVER AGAIN. 
Of course I’m also going to buy things for the kids and the husband, so as usual I’m probably going to spend a lot.
But, I’m not worried because I will get a 5% rebate if I spend 5,000Php with my BDO Credit Card, which is tempting, but I’d rather pay with cash, otherwise, I will probably max out my credit card and I don’t want that to happen. Again. I don’t feel sorry because I get a 100Php Coupon for every 2,000Php I spend anyway and I get a chance to win an Internet TV, odds of me winning are a million to one, still, it won’t hurt, and who knows, this time around my luck just might change.
It doesn’t show but I am quite stingy, I used to be a compulsive buyer, but that was until I started to earn my own money and realized how hard it is to actually earn it, so I’ve learned to value my money.
And because I value my money, I only truly splurge when the Sale comes. I’m a smart shopper like that.
Although I live in the Wagwag/Ukay-Ukay capital of the Philippines, I’ve never been fond of shopping for pre-loved items, unless of course it’s an original designer brand, but today, you rarely see original designer brands in the wagwag/ukay-ukay and even if you do see some, they’re not as inexpensive as they used to be, and really, I’d never pay for anything pre loved that was over 300Php, unless it’s a slightly used original pair of Loubotins, then perhaps I’d consider.
